Whether your Nelly is Nelly Furtado or you grew up hearing your mom saying "Whoa Nelly!" anytime something slightly distressing happened, you can totally relate to this shirt. Also, please tell me that wasn't just my mom.

I wear this look almost daily. For me, it's something I don't have to think about. It has been said that the most successful people in the world have a "uniform." Think Steve Jobs in his black turtleneck or Steve from Blue's Clues in his green shirt. I'll let you decide which is more successful. Either way, they wore a variation of the same outfit everyday because it was one less decision they had to make in a day. Let's be real, looking for clues is so hard that you have a special thinking chair, so why stress out about deciding on your outfit!?! THERE ARE CLUES OUT THE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
Mom jeans or boyfriend jeans both fit this look seamlessly, so pick the one you feel your most "it girl" in. I'm telling you, if you don't feel like you have "it" when you put the jeans on, you'll be in a weird mood all day long. Regardless of which you choose, I always put on my favorite leather belt, just to add some personality. With mom jeans, I love doing a rope belt and tie it in a bow just under my corner tuck..read on for the deets. This look is so effortless and sexy because its slightly disheveled. My personal opinion, looking perfect all the time is overrated and is, honestly, unattainable. You have a much better chance of a guy walking up to you and asking for your number if you look like a human being, not some practically-perfect-in-every-way creature. He wants the company of a girl, not a creature. I digress. Don't be afraid to look a little out of place, its what makes you unique and interesting. (I'm so glad I just gave you dating advice. The tuck.
I invented this idea of the "Corner Tuck" forever ago, but Tan France (Queer Eye) has become famous for it under a different name, the French Tuck. I'm going to teach you the art of it right now.
1. Hike your shoulders up to your ears and open your chest up like you just took a deep breath. Hold this position.
2. Pinch your shirt with your left thumb and middle finger, with your thumb on the outside of the shirt, between your left hip and belly button.
3. Gather your shirt within that pinch so that the tip of your thumb is about three inches above the shirt's hemline.
4. Remember that stance you assumed in the first step? You better be holding it!
5. Use your right hand to ever so slightly pull your pant's waist from your hips.
6. Gently tuck everything under your thumb into that pocket your right hand made.
7. Fluff your shirt out a little bit. This is where you can adjust how wide the tuck is. I typically go for a 1 inch window, but sometimes, I'll go almost to the center line of my pants.
TA DAA! You now know my best kept secret. This tuck accentuates your natural waist making you look 2 sizes smaller than you think you are. Notice I said "think you are." I promise the size you are is PERFECT and BEAUTIFUL! So show that to the world, ya babe! Because the focal point of your shirt is raised a solid 3-4 inches, your legs look 3-4 inches longer, and your entirety 3-4 inches taller. I know I've always wanted to be two inches taller than I really am, so why not fake it?
The sleeve.
This top is naturally oversized, so it glides over all of the areas you shouldn't be concerned about, but are. With that being said, the sleeves can be a little long, depending on your height and look you're going for. If you find that to be the case, I'm going to give you two options:
1. Cuff your sleeve up by folding the hemline up twice
2. Loosely roll your sleeve hemline 2 inches, twice.
Option 1 is going to give you a more structured and perfected look. Option 2 is going to give you the "yeah, I'm hot..both ways, thank you" look. I love them both and wear one just as much as the other. Shoot, mix it up and roll one sleeve and leave the other untouched. You're hot, so rock it how you want!
